Along with his work at the Aesthetic Dentistry Group in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Nick Rauber, DDS, is the founder and director of Swollfest Fishing Rodeo, an annual fundraising event in Grand Isle, Louisiana. Dr. Nicholas Rauber has used the proceeds from the Swollfest Fishing Rodeo to support a number of charitable organizations over the past 18 years, including the nonprofit organization Cancer Services in Baton Rouge.
Among its many programs, Cancer Services maintains numerous educational initiatives to help clients better understand their cancer diagnosis. The organization’s Education Center provides clients and caregivers with access to the most accurate and current information on cancer-related matters in a welcoming library atmosphere. At the Education Center, visitors can reference more than 1,000 books and DVDs, obtain pamphlets for home use, and receive personalized assistance from the center’s full-time librarian. Cancer Services also offers the Cancer 101 educational meeting, which is its longest operating support group that serves patients with cancer, especially newly diagnosed patients. For the monthly meeting, Cancer Services develops an informative program that features presentations from medical specialists and community members to help individuals and families learn about cancer, treatments, and survivorship.
